14 weeks old

Well it's 1:45am and I'm up thinking (even though i should be sleeping because miss Skyla will be up in 5 hours) ..... Today my daughter is 14 weeks old and that is amazing.  She has done so many things already and it amazes me and makes me anxious to see what she will do next and in the future.  Every morning she is just so happy to see me walk in her room and pick her up and it makes my heart melt and makes getting up at whatever time she has decided to wake completely worth it.

Skyla had her first Christmas this last week ... She got many wonderful gifts from her family and says thank you. Not that she really knows but she loves playing with everything.  This week marks the last week that i am off of work, I have so many mixed emotions about it.  I want to be here to see my daughters every move and watch her grow but i also i want to make money to give her everything in the world.  Right now i think i'm more sad to go back to work then anything but i'm sure seeing my daughter everyday will be enough to make me remember why i'm doing what i'm doing.

well here are pictures of Skyla from Christmas .....
Skylas Christmas Dress. She liked it till i tried to get a picture :)

Last week in our family....

Well I'm sitting in my office thinking about all the things i haven't blogged about lately, I feel like I haven't been on her in months, when in reality it has only been a week.  So I decided I would catch everyone up on how life in the Holub household as been so here we go:

Well Skyla had her first visit with Santa and she managed to be awake all day and sleep when it was time to take a picture:
On her way to see Santa

Sleeping baby :)
I was able to share a fun experience with one of my good friends Ashley and her son Austin.  Every year Yucaipa Sheriff Department does "Operation Santa" they drive around and play Christmas music and toss Candy Canes.  Well this year they actually made stops throughout the city so that children could see Santa.  Well I am still amazed that Ashley had never heard of this and hence had never been, so we got to enjoy that experience together and this year the fire department also joined in on the fun.

Diesel (Deputy Hagan's Dog)
Adam has been at the Yucaipa station for just over a year now and they just had there Christmas party.....
Mr & Mrs Holub

Izzy and Trystin did a wonderful job posing for the Christmas card ...... They just wanted the treat but hey....

Skyla has still been enjoying every minute of bath time, and has discovered that she can splash around with her hands and feet which has made bath time even more enjoyable for her......

But she continues not to love being put on her tummy, even though she does so well, but this is the look i get...
GET ME OFF MY TUMMY .... I DON'T WANT TO ..... LOL
This week our beautiful Daughter is 3 months old and I still can't believe it ..... She is making wonderful strides and crossing so many milestones...... She can now steadily hold her head up on her own, She can stand alone with some assistance (and not for a really long time), She brights all of our days with her smiles and laughs.  She loves to play and coo at you whenever she can,  she is constantly making new friends and making everyone fall in love with her.
Mommy and me
She also has discovered that her hands taste REALLY good.

So thats what we have been doing over here.  Today is Christmas Eve and we will be celebrating it with Adams Family.  Adam works on Christmas day but when he gets off work we will have a quick celebration with my parents and then home.  Next week will mark my last week off :( January 3 i'm back to work and i'm having mixed feelings about it, I love my job and I enjoy it but I really don't want to miss out on anything with my daughter.  So we will see how it goes .... I guess all else fails I will be a stay at home mom for a little while and then return back to work later on.  Well i guess that is all from me today i will leave you with a few more pics and I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe, and joyous Christmas and New year.

Love always,

Skylas Mommy Mrs. Holub

10 weeks

well well well a lot went on this week ... Monday she had a doctors appointment and Skyla got her first shots :( she actually did really good she only cried a little and she didn't even have a fever or anything.  She was pretty sleep for the rest of the day and only wanted to be held but hey i can't complain about that i love to hold the beautiful little girl.  At her check up the doctor said she look great and that she is developing wonderfully,  she held her head and chest up while on her tummy :) her doctor was quite impressed. She measured at 23 inches long in the 90 percentile and she weight in at 11 pounds and 13 ounces in the 80 percentile.  So she has finally evened out the doctor is not concerned anymore with the gap between he height and weight.  Yesterday she turn 10 weeks old and she spent the day with her daddy hanging out and being lazy.  Today we helped grandma get ready for her work Christmas party and went to get a pedicure and hair done and then home to hang out.

Our lives have been pretty crazy lately, I went back to work last week only for the black friday week.  The whole week was crazy i worked 7 days straight totaling just under 60 hours OMG. it felt good on one hand to be back to work but, I missed my little beautiful SSSOOOO much i couldn't believe it.  January is definitely going to be hard but it will be good.  Well till next time.

The breath you take

You know I have always loved country music and i have come to realize that as a mother i love it even more.  I find a deeper meaning in the songs and I find myself relating more to the music.  My own mother pointed this song out to me recently and it makes me think of Skyla and all the things that she is going to do in this life or hers and how no matter what i will always be there for her, no matter what I have to do that is one promise I will always have for her. NO MATTER WHAT HER MOMMY WILL ALWAYS BE THERE.  The reason I feel this is so important is because I have witnessed parents not being there for their children and it breaks my heart.  In life there should always be at least two people that you can count on NO MATTER WHAT and I have realized that not everyone is lucky enough to have that in there lifes like I have.  My parents did anything and everything for me and they always encouraged me to do anything and everything in life that makes me happy and I thank them for that for they have made me the woman, wife, friend and mother that i am today.  THANK YOU MOM AND DAD.

George Strait "The breath you take"
He looks up from second base dad’s up in the stands
He saw the hit, the run, the slide there ain’t no bigger fan
In the parking lot after the game he said
“Dad I thought you had a plane to catch”
He smiled and said “Yeah son I did”

Life’s not the breaths you take
The breathing in and out
That gets you through the day
Ain’t what it’s all about
Ya just might miss the point
Try’n to win the race
Life’s not the breaths you take
But the moments that take your breath away

Fast forward fifteen years
And a thousand miles away
Boy’s built a life he’s got a wife
And a baby due today
He hears a voice saying “I made it son
He said “I told you dad you didn’t have to come”
He smiles and says ”Yeah I know you did”

Life’s not the breaths you take
The breathing in and out
That gets you through the day
Ain’t what it’s all about
Ya just might miss the point
Try’n to win the race
Life’s not the breaths you take
But the moments that take your breath away

Just like it took my breath when she was born
Just like it took my breath away when dad took his last that morn

Life’s not the breaths you take
The breathing in and out
That gets you through the day
Ain’t what it’s all about
Ya just might miss the point
If ya don’t slow down the pace
Life’s not the breaths you take
But the moments that take your breath away.

Eight Weeks

Skyla after her first shopping trip with Grandma Jessie at the mall :)

Well miss Skyla turn 8 weeks old this week.  She is so amazing, the things that she is learn and starting to do makes it hard to believe that she is only 8 weeks old.

This week has been a trial on me as a new mom .... I have realized that it is ok for me to take time for me and get back to being Vanessa not just Skylas mom and it is good for my whole family that i do that.  I'm getting back to being a young 25 year old woman, a wife to a wonderful man and father, a daughter to wonderful parents who love and care for myself and my whole family no matter what, a friend to my wonderful friends who have been there for me and
my family to help with whatever we need at a moments notice.  While doing all of this I am loving learning with Skyla and seeing her grow and discover new things.  Being a mom is amazingly rewarding, to love someone so much that you would never let anything happen to them and seeing the love that they have for you in just one look or a smile not having to hear the words is more wonderful than I could ever explain.  I can't wait to see the woman she grows into and I can't wait for the adventures of being Skylas MOM.

Well I will be returning to work next week for one week only, but I will be working 7 days straight :( I would be lieing if I said I wasn't nervous and maybe even a little scared. It will be a great trial for January to see if I will be able to leave my beautiful little girl for 8 - 10 hours a day, If not i guess Daddy and I will have to figure something out ... :) hehehehe.

I was finally able to make it back to the gym yesterday with Adam and it felt so wonderful.  The stress relief i get from the gym is more powerful than I remember.  Well that is my rant for today, I promise i will keep up on this blog more often I know i have been slacking.  Till then.

Six Weeks Old

I know I know i haven't been updating this like i should.  Skyla is now six week old and doing amazing she is growing so fast i can't believe it.
Our family has gone through a lot this week.  Daddy went back to work :( so we have been adjusting to a new routine of just baby and I, to say it is exhausting is a understatement. I feel bad for Adam and the baby because now they don't spend as much time together and she misses her Daddy, she can be asleep and i say his name and she wakes up :( breaks my heart.  It also makes me think about the things we are both going to miss when i go back to work, which is making me work harder at finishing school.  so that we aren't away from her as long.

My mom also had surgery this week which thankfully went great she is home recovering and doing great. Well i will update more tomorrow which is Skylas 7 week birthday :). Hope everyone has a wonderful day and enjoys the cold weather cause we love it.
