Relationships

Relationships - of all kinds - are like sand held in your hand. Held loosely, with an open hand, the sand remains where it is. The minute you close your hand and squeeze tightly to hold on, the sand trickles through your fingers. You may hold onto some of it, but most will be spilled. A relationship is like that. Held loosely, with respect and freedom for the other person, it is likely to remain intact. But hold too tightly, too possessively, and the relationship slips away and is lost.

I really love this quote and I found a lot of truth in it.  I find it more truthful when it comes to my family and my daughter.  As much as I want to hold her close and keep her from all the bad in the world, I know that she needs to experience it in order to learn from it.  I have come to find as a new mom just all the things that our parents did for us when we were young and all the things that they still do.  To help us and teach us and let us learn from their life experiences as well as experience things for ourselves weather we really want to or not :) LOL I have learned a lot from my daughter in the 5 weeks that she has been here.  She has taught me large amounts of patience and definitely how much you can love someone unconditionally and how you are willing to do anything to help them.

Well today my daughter is 5 Weeks old ..... WOW how time flies i can not believe that is was 5 weeks ago today that she entered our world and changed everything ....... of course for the better.  Wednesday is her one month check up and I will update everyone on how she is doing and what progress she has made so i will see you all again then :). Until then here are some pics of her enjoying sleeping.

Enjoying her Nap time on her tummy....
