Skyla's One Month Check-up

Well on Wednesday Skyla had her one month check-up.  She is healthy and with no serious problems.  For height is in the 75 percentile at 22 inches long and weight wise she is only 25 percentile at 8 lbs 7 ozs, which the doctor is concerned with.  In two weeks she only gained one pound.  She has been eaten very healthy so it looks like we are just going to have a slim and slender like girl on our hands.

Saturday she is having pictures taken for Halloween and newborn pictures by MCJ Impressions.  Super excited to see how they come out and can't wait to order them and put some pictures up in the house.  Stay tune for more pictures of our little monkey and update on our lifes.

Relationships

Relationships - of all kinds - are like sand held in your hand. Held loosely, with an open hand, the sand remains where it is. The minute you close your hand and squeeze tightly to hold on, the sand trickles through your fingers. You may hold onto some of it, but most will be spilled. A relationship is like that. Held loosely, with respect and freedom for the other person, it is likely to remain intact. But hold too tightly, too possessively, and the relationship slips away and is lost.

I really love this quote and I found a lot of truth in it.  I find it more truthful when it comes to my family and my daughter.  As much as I want to hold her close and keep her from all the bad in the world, I know that she needs to experience it in order to learn from it.  I have come to find as a new mom just all the things that our parents did for us when we were young and all the things that they still do.  To help us and teach us and let us learn from their life experiences as well as experience things for ourselves weather we really want to or not :) LOL I have learned a lot from my daughter in the 5 weeks that she has been here.  She has taught me large amounts of patience and definitely how much you can love someone unconditionally and how you are willing to do anything to help them.

Well today my daughter is 5 Weeks old ..... WOW how time flies i can not believe that is was 5 weeks ago today that she entered our world and changed everything ....... of course for the better.  Wednesday is her one month check up and I will update everyone on how she is doing and what progress she has made so i will see you all again then :). Until then here are some pics of her enjoying sleeping.

Enjoying her Nap time on her tummy....

Trystin decided to join in on nap time with Skyla!!!

Happy One Month Skyla Raine

Well Today Skyla is one month old. In one month she has been admitted to the NICU, visited her doctor 7 times, she has lost a pound then gain 1lb and 5oz, and she has grown 3 inch longer.  To say the least she has had a very full first month of life.  She is doing amazing things already, from holding her head up for long periods of time to holding her own bottle, I can't wait to see how much she changes and develops in this next month.

Yay for Skyla

So i had to share that my beautiful baby girl has finally gained weight. She has officially passed her birth weight she was 7lbs 2oz at birth and at her doctor visit today she was 7lbs 7oz. So SO SO SO happy we actually don't have to go back to the doctor until her one month check up. So I just wanted to post this and share with everyone.  I'm being a proud little mama today.

Three Weeks Old

Well Skyla is 3 weeks old today ..... Oh my gosh how crazy she is almost a month old I can't believe that.  Life is starting to return back to normal around here.  It is wonderful having my husband here with me to be able to witness all her wonderful moments and to be able to spend this time together as a family.  We have had our time to ourselves as well which has been wonderful.  WE went to Knott's, Adam got some ink touched up with my mom, I went to Morongo and did a little bit of gambling (won 60 Bucks).  Life is pretty wonderful right now. Here are some pictures showing the changes she has made over the last 3 weeks.

Well we went to Adams work to show off Skyla and everyone LOVED her and was commenting on how beautiful she is.  We  found out when exactly he has to go back and it is not until November 4, I'm Ecstatic.  We got Skyla all set up with both our insurances.  I got my leave all figured out with work so i don't have to return until January 3, 2011 which is so awesome.  I will be returning for the week of black Friday for everyone at works sanity LOL, plus i have to do shopping and while i'm on leave my discount doesn't work :( not nice.

Knotts Halloween Haunt

So Adam and I went to Knotts Halloween Haunt last night, which was our first outing without Skyla.  You know you hear parents talk about it being hard to leave their children and quite honestly i always thought it was BS.  It truly was so hard to leave her and not worry about her the entire time.  It is so crazy to think that we are now the parents and we are the ones that are going to worry about her life and where it is going and the things we are doing to help shape her life.

Adam and I have gone to Knotts every year that we have been together. going on almost ten years of going.  Adam didn't think we would be able to go but my parents were kind enough to surprise us and offer to watch Skyla so that we could have a night out.  We had a blast, it was fun as always but i was definitely happy to get home and have my daughter back in my arms.

Welcome to our blog!!!!!

So i decided that i would try to keep up on this blog thing for family and friends that want to see our life events and who want to watch Skyla grow.  I'm new to this whole thing so bare with me, any help any one can give me would be wonderful.

Well Skyla Raine Holub was born on Tuesday September 21, 2010 at 257am she was 7lbs 2oz and was 20 in long.  I had 25 hours of labor :( not fun.  My doctor and family are certain that i went into labor at friends wedding that my husband and I were in, which would mean that i was in labor for 3 days.  Skyla was born at Redlands Community Hospital and she came at her own pace in her own way. Throughout my entire pregnancy Skyla show'd just how much personality she already had, she didn't want anyone to rush her or make her do anything she didn't want to do, and even outside the womb she hasn't changed she does all things at her own pace.
